Bud -
I live one county south of Winston-Salem (Davidson County) and had no issues
with putting up a HDX-55 US Tower with a Steppir beam in 2018. In our
county the zoning codes specifically allows amateur radio towers, just must
meet the required setbacks from the property lines for them.
I had to have a North Carolina Professional Engineer review the US Tower
drawings and seal them and after that it was no issues, IIRC the building
permit for the tower base and the electrical was less than $100.00.
The inspectors were more curious than anything else, actually got to do some
PR for amateur radio with them.
Feel free to contact me with any additional questions.

I'm seriously contemplating move to the Winston Salem / Forsyth County
area. I am contemplating 80-90ft of Rohn 45 and large Tribander.
Any experiences or info would be appreciated.
