Hi!

Doc N7DR writes concerning UBA (and REF):

It is not trivial, nor can it be fully done by anyone except The Big Tree.

Anyway, I have a wild hack for UBA that lets you work the contest. It does
not address the Belgian prefix multipliers (a QSO with a Belgian station can
give you 2 multipliers (province and prefix)). You'll have to mark these
mults after the contest, and calculate the score.

I did as follows:

1. Create a separate UBA_SSB.99 and/or UBA_CW.99 directory under your TRLog
directory.
In this directory

2. Create UBA.DOM - the Belgian domestic multiplier file - containing the
following:
An = AN
Bw = BW
Ht = HT
Lb = LB
Lg = LG
Nm = NM
Lu = LU
Ov = OV
Vb = VB
Wv = WV
Br = BR

3. Copy CTY.DAT to this directory and modify it as follows:
  3a. Substitute "NE:" for the continent ("EU:", "NA:", "SA:" etc)
      of all countries except The following DXCC countries from the
      European Union:
          CT, CU, DL, EA, EA6, EI, F, G, GD, GI, GJ, GM, GU,
          GW, I, IS, LX, OE, OH, OH0, OJ0, OZ, PA, SM, SV,
          SV5, SV9, SY and TK
      which should retain "EU:".
  3b. Add the following lines to the end of CTY.DAT:
REMAINING MULTS
CT CU DL EA EA6 EI F G GD GI GJ GM GU GW I IS
LX OE OH OH0 OJ0 OZ PA SM SV SV5 SV9 SY TK

4. In LOGCFG.DAT (or UBA.CFG if you have it the new way) have

; Put _your_ call into the next clause
MY CALL = ES5QX
; Cheating TR, Tree not listening :-) This permits you to garner 1 point
; for contacts within your own country.
MY COUNTRY = 1Y
; I would have made MY CONTINENT = NE, but TRLog accepts new continents
; only from CTY.DAT and not explicitly. Note that even if you happen to be
: in an EU country you still want TRLog to believe you are not.

; For "own" continent = 1 point, "DX", ie EU = 3 points
CONTEST = CQ WW
CONTEST NAME = UBA CONTEST SSB
;CONTEST NAME = UBA CONTEST CW

MODE = SSB
;MODE = CW
MULTIPLE MODES = FALSE
; If single band, make the next FALSE
MULTIPLE BANDS = TRUE

; The next will make "domestic" any QSO with a valid Belgian province
; abbreviation in the exchange window. Likewise, it counts 1 point for
; Belgian stations with no province received (should be 0). So take care!
EXCHANGE RECEIVED = RST QSO NUMBER AND POSSIBLE DOMESTIC QTH
ADD DOMESTIC COUNTRY = CLEAR
ADD DOMESTIC COUNTRY = ON
QSO POINTS DOMESTIC PHONE = 10
QSO POINTS DOMESTIC CW = 10
DOMESTIC MULTIPLIER = DOMESTIC FILE
DOMESTIC FILENAME = UBA.DOM
; Now using the butchered CTY.DAT
DX MULTIPLIER = CQ EUROPEAN COUNTRIES
; To prevent Alt-G show you a table of zone numbers
ZONE MULTIPLIER = NONE
MULT BY BAND = TRUE
MULT BY MODE = FALSE

INITIAL EXCHANGE = NONE
EXCHANGE MEMORY ENABLE = TRUE

; Add your hardware-specific items and operating preferences

4. That's it.
   Gives 10 points for Belgians with correct exchange info
   Gives 3 points for European Union contacts
   Gives 1 point for all others (except 1Y0 and some other never-heard-of)
   Marks Belgian provinces as mults, and shows you those you have/miss
   Marks European Union countries as mults, and shows you those you
    have/miss (use Alt-G)
