[TRLog] Problems with TRFREE and the Paddles

I am having problems getting the paddles to work with TRFREE on a certain computer.  The program, cable, and paddles work fine on my toshiba 286 laptop, but not on my new (new to me-p120) compaq pentium laptop.  

I checked the logcfg.dat files and they are identical.  I even disconnect the pull up resistors temporarily-nada.  

Any suggestions?
