Hi again,

Thanks to all, especially Tree for you help on my last post. I have =
several other questions:

Background:=20

When I installed the program from disk in A:\ I did it by rebooting my =
computer into DOS mode, changed to the A:\ drive and ran Install. The =
program initialized as expected and I installed it in C:\ LOG =
directory. When it asked if I wanted to establish a path to \LOG in the =
autoexec.bat I answered yes. After all was complete I rebooted and =
returned to DOS. I then made a new directory as a sub to C:\LOG --ie. MD =
\LOG\10MARL01. I then change to the new sub directory C:\LOG\10MAR01 and =
entered TR expecting it to boot from this directory. It did not boot and =
gave me a "file not found" message. I then checked autoexec.bat by TYPE =
AUTOEXEC.BAT and got the following : SETCLASS PATH=3DC:\PROGRAM =
FILES\PHOTODELUX2.0\ADOBECONNECTABLES. There was no \LOG in the path in =
Autoexec.bat. I also attempted to edit the autoexec.bat using EDIT =
AUTOEXEC.BAT -- and add the path \LOG but that did not work either. Not =
knowing what to do I went ahead and ran the 10 mtr contest (after the =
fact) in the C:\LOG directory. This left a number of files -- =
01ARRLL1.CFG ; DAT ; RST ; SUMMARY.DAT; PLOG000.BAK PLOG001 BAK in the =
C:\LOG directory as expected. I understand that I need to us the =
command TR NEW to set up a new contest -- e.g. GENERAL QSO. =20

System --- I am using TR version 6.40 --purchased at Dayton from you =
in 5/11/99 -- I've been off the air last 3 years and just getting back =
up and running. I ordered updates by subscription last night. I am =
using Windows 98 on a Pentium 3 with 265 Megs Ram.

So here are the questions:

1 What should I do to save the existing \LOG directory and files into a =
dedicated contest file e.g.. \LOG\10MTR01 FILE?=20

2 How do I set up the path for \LOG so that TR will run from any =
subdirectory to C:\LOG I set up for other contests?

3. After closing the 10 meter contest logging do I need to go in and =
reset the original CONTROL J settings I used when I entered the contest =
after the fact. I saved with CONTROL W?

4. Are there problems with running TR from within my Windows MSDOS =
window or do I have to reboot into DOS when I use TR? I forget how to =
close down my computer when in DOS and not Windows (I thought this was =
impossible -- HI -- but then I am now as young as I was then!)

On another issue, when I get updates via e-mail in MIME format what do I =
have to do to get them decoded, unzipped ( I use WinZip) and into the =
DOS C:\LOG file.

Again, thanks in advance for your help. Sorry to be such a newbie but I =
wanta get it right.

Tim
