Thanks for all the prompt responses. I made a boot disk and that seems =
to work, but a bit messy.

If I find I am using this particular computer for contesting, I'll look =
into Partition Magic. It sounds like the sexy solution.

In the shack, I have a 75mhz pentium just for contesting. Cost was $100 =
plus a monitor and keyboard (the former came off a 386SX machine that I =
had in inventory, the latter is new and added $15-$20 bucks to the =
computer, still a pretty cheap unit for contest logging). This computer =
is radio only stuff. It it set up for SO2R and stays connected to the =
radios. It does have Windows 3.1 on it only because I like some of the =
file management features (Xtree) better than dealing with DOS. I've got =
the hard drive backed up on tape if the unit crashes so a hard drive =
rebuild is easy. The computer is better than an external keyer and does =
more.

I'd prefer to have the dedicated machine and not risk upsetting my =
primary desktop.

The Windows ME computer is a new lap top, that may or may not ever do CW =
contesting. But the last portable contest I did was CW, so...

Thanks again.

Chuck, KE4OAR
