Getting ready for phone SS. As usual, plan on using sbdvp for
voice messages. I run TR in a DOS box under Win98.

I want to set up the AWE64 SB card levels and inputs to record the
messages. I normally use the AWE64 Creative Mixer to do this.

The Volume Control has vanished from the System Tray and AWE64
Creative Mixer won't start up.

I have noticed that some times when I turn on the computer the
Volume Control is there and Creative Mixer works. At other times
when I boot the computer, the Volume Control isn't there and
Creative Mixer doesn't work.

If I type sbdvp at the DOS prompt I get the normal message to the
effect that SBDVP is attempting to reset the sound card followed
by "Successful".

SBDVP - u does what one would expcet.

1. Any ideas as to how to fix the problem?

2. Any ideas for a workaround so I can record messages for SS.

TIA for your help and 73 de Jim Smith	VE7FO
