[Trlog] Icom Second Radio Alt VFO Control?

Is there a way to set VFO B (for split operation) on an Icom radio when it
is the second radio without selecting it?  In other words on SSB, you use
'alt-d' to check a call, then you need to set the split.  Is there a way to
do this on that second radio without  doing an 'alt-r' and retyping the call
in the call window (also interrupting your main radio)?
