[Trlog] new user questions (again)

Regarding Question Number 1 - I had that same issue and
here's how I deal with it. It's a problem for me because I'm
in a truly terrible location and am therefore "weak"
(reference to prior "SS Secrets" post) and therefore the
other folks often need repeats.

- I find I don't need to hit "Enter" at all. Instead of
hitting the "Enter" key I hit the "F2" key. This sends the
exchange but leaves all of the "exchange info" in the lower
field. If they ask for a repeat (especially the number) when
you hit "F3" the current number for that QSO gets sent
rather than the next one in line. Once I get a confirmation
that they accept the QSO I then hit the "Enter" key and all
is well.

Regarding question #2 - Type in the partial and then press
"Space bar". Does the dupe check without anything else. Also
(in case you have stumbled across it) note the ANY
combination of characters works and wiil search your log.
First two, last three etc. Tree thought of all the angles as
far as I can see.

The "big kids" have all their two radio type tricks. It's
only fair that the "little kids" have theirs as well.

Subject: [Trlog] new user questions (again)

maybe someone can point me to the correct KEYWORDS for
searching the Archives, or answer directly:

(1) in Sweepstakes, in S&P mode, when I've put all the other
sttn's info in the window and then hit <ENTER> to send him
my data, the QSO (naturally) moves up to the log window. If
he asks for a repeat on the SERIAL NUMBER and I hit an F-key
to send the number, the NEXT serial number is sent. How do
I program the memory to send "next - 1" or the current QSO
number?

(2) in S&P mode, hitting <ENTER> when I come upon a sttn who
I'd like to DUPE-check and then call, the message sent is
"de K0EX". Can the "de" be eliminated? I find that the
"de" causes me to lose-out somtimes to a faster caller.

(3) when in the CQ mode and I only copy a partial call, how
is the slickest way to program an F-key to send the partial
that I copy, followed by a "?" ? Is it simply "@ ?" ? Or,
is there a better way to do this, so that I don't have to
move over to the paddle?

Tnx, guys, for your inputs! I'm learning, but can't
always find what I'm seeking in the manual.
