[Trlog] Rescoring Cabrillo files?

I can tell you something that I tried that didn't work!
For FD AT K6H, we used both Writelog and TR. I tried converting
the TR-dat file to ADIF using WLOGCONV, intending to
import the finished ADIF file to Writelog. Sadly, I discovered
that while Writelog easily imports ADIF files, it was looking for
a data category that WLOGCONV did not provide, hence there
was no credit for any of the QSO's which had been logged
originally using TR.
The problem seemed to be the QSO exchange data (5E for
example). WL was looking for this information to be in a category
called <RCVD> but the conversion software did not have such a
category and reported the same info in two places (i. e. "number of
xmtrs," I think called <no_xmtr> in the program's data file, and another
category -- the name of which I forget -- which I believe was the
power classification). It was like sending apples to an orange juice
machine---it didn't work!
Even though the name ADIF implies some kind of standardization,
the bottom line seems to be that one program's ADIF file looks
like gobbledygook to another program's IMPORTER.
I find it interesting that almost all contest logging programs allow
for the EXPORT of data in the Cabrillo format ----- but that very few
seem to allow for the IMPORT of data in Cabrillo. Perhaps that
is something that the next version of TR-log might be willing to
consider. Then, perhaps, contests could be scored using
either WL or TR even though portions of the contest were
logged in both formats.
PS -- I'm still hoping that one of these days, POST will be able to
make use of the frequency data for those of us that log such things --
so that when the frequency is converted for the Cabrillo log, THE
EXACT FREQUENCY WILL BE INCLUDED in the final product.
