I'm a Moron!
Tonight out on a 10-mile run (no thats not the Moron part) I figured it
out....
I set up my configuration file with various F keys programmed with NE9U/CTY
and then use the Control V feature to change the NE9U/CTY to NE9U/"new
county name" as I switch counties.
Trouble was, for my test configuration file I called it CTY.cfg
After logging some test qso's, simulating a power failure and rebooting, my
log file is now called CTY.dat which really must have confused TR since that
is also the country file.
I renamed everything for testing to CTY2.cfg, etc...and no more problems.
see you all this weekend in MiQP!
