Ok, if I disable the DVP then the problem goes away.

In the golden days of TRLog this "slow" stuff would come up
now and then.
Using a DOS field manual I played around with all the commands 
and found this to be the best command line for autoexec.bat. 
It always fixed anyone's problem. I did have some "experts" take
this command line on but I was always able to defend the settings. 
I don't remember what they mean or do now of course. 
Sadly I'm now switching to win-test. I have finally seen the way. I
was hoping to be the last one to switch but I see you are still in there,
good luck.
