This one is usually good fun, with plenty of activity and
some interesting propagation. Another case of 'good
conditions until Friday lunchtime, then it's all change'!!
20m short path at the contest start (Fri 23z) was OK but
activity was low. Saturday morning was tough with 15m long
path my only option and very slow rates. I made 2 QSO's on
10m by beaming SE!!
Sunday was a bit better. 10m opened a bit but I hardly even
had what could be descibed as a pile-up and QSB was deep.
Sunday evening saw some huge signals on 20m but activity
was low due to it being early Monday in JA and time for
sleep. Apart from the couple of hours when 10m opened on
Sunday am, the best rates were in the last 90 mins of the
contest on 20m, when JA woke up and had breakfast in the
shack!

Long path CW to JA is always a challenge at this QTH, due
to the echo and multipath effects....lots of repeats and so
on need by me! Yet few of the JA ops seemed to be having
problems. Now this could very well be that my CW is just no
use! However.....I'd be interested to know if the same
phenomenon exists at the other end of the path. Anyone know?
