Dear Tim, (c.c. UK-Contest reflector)
Yes, CQ WW SSB UBN reports have just been posted to
the web-site. No, UBN results are not 'Final Scores'. Further
adjudication is ongoing but most final scores will not change
by much at this stage.

Comparisons can be made on number of contacts lost, number
of points lost and total score reduction
Each deducted contact incurs a penalty of three QSOs, so
QSOs lost times four equals Points lost.
Then, the affect on total score is even greater because of the
multiplier effect (all the more so if deducted QSOs were also
claimed mults).
A really clean single-operator log loses less than 0.5% of QSOs,
equals about 2% of points and 2-3% deducted from total score.
But several percentage points higher is common.
I'd say - rough rule of thumb - losing more than 2% of contacts or 8%
of points is grounds for concern! (But everything is relative!).
Funnily enough, I reckon study of the detail proves just as
instructive as comparing the overall performance.

If you want to follow this up check 'CQ Contest' magazine, October
2000 for SSB and December 2000 for CW contest 1999 UBN
analyses. The median retention percentage of points for SSB (i.e. one
half of all entrants did better and one half did worse) was as follows:
All-Band High-Power: 89.5%
QRP All-Band: 91.2%
All-Band Low Power: 88.3%
Assisted All-Band: 91.0%
Multi-Single: 85.5%
Multi-Multi: 87.0%
