"I fully agree with Clive GM3POI's point, he perhaps forgot to mention
that in a phone call he made to me yesterday morning I gave some
of the history. The timing would be about right if the event were held
in early Feb, but the calendar is full at that time! After several years
lobbying I managed to get I2UIY OK2FD DL6RAI to agree to move
the CW event from May to April. I think rather than another change
of date we now need to lobby for a two hour delay to the start. The
excellent UK participation this time helps our case (I suppose!)
so you might like to put some appropriate comments in with your
entries."
 I think the point is that whatever the date the start time should begin 1hr
before UK Sunset i.e. Sunset being halfway across EU. This simulates then
the US Sprint start time of 1.5 hrs before the West Coast sunset.
Earlier in the year would definitely cut down the QRN that was around
despite it still being light on 80m. Also the clash with the YU and WSEM
needs to be dealt with. I agree with all the other comments about the
Contest and perhaps with a few Tweaks it could become big. My suggestion is
to try for a 18z start and negotiate from there. 73 Clive GM3POI
