I use RecAllPro. A demo copy can be downloaded from
http://www.sagebrush.com/recpro.htm
It only counts the days on which you actually run the program as the days
for the demo, so a 30 day demo which I downloaded last year is still going!
It breaks the audio stream into chunks of your own choice, at sample bit
rates of your choice. 24 hours at 8 bit comes to about 110mb, which is
nothing. I use an old Dell Pentium 100 running Win 95 with a very old sound
card.
I have to add that when I first did this I never even thought of using the
recording to check the contest after the event. Naturally, that is an easy
thing to do. The only time I tried it I had used a very silly sample rate
and was unable to read the CW! I did it simply for the fun of it. (Yes,
fun!) I make a CD with the log and the recording and label it IOTA 2002, or
whatever, and there it is forever. Log, QSO's, the lot.

I see lot's of discussion regarding Audio Logging a contest.

I have written a little utility to record audio into small sections
especially for the purpose of Audio Logging a contest. The program
is early in development, but quite functional. I have placed it on my
website at www.mm0ant.co.uk if anyone in interested in it. I would
appreciate comments on the program and any ideas for updates etc.

The program is written for 32bit version of Windows (95+)
