Hullo UK Contest Reflector!
G3TXF made a 36-hour Single-Op High-Power entry in WAE-CW.
The three rest periods were (a) first three hours, (b) the last two hours
and (c) a seven hour gap from 22z on Saturday to 05z on Sunday.
Conditions were pretty awful on the Saturday but appeared to pick up
later on the Sunday. For me it's the QTCs that makes WAE-CW! Made
608 QSOs, and logged 1,239 QTCs.
This year, they've changed the Mults in WAE. Did the contest using CT 9.74
which had the old-mults and then down-loaded CT 9.80 and re-ran the log
in CT 9.80 after the contest to get the final log with new WAE mults. [The
DARC
has borrowed the RSGB's 'call-area' idea for W, VE, JA, VK, ZL etc].
Although CT 9.80 appears to handle the new mults OK in the scored log
(.ALL), the
supporting tables (.MUL and .CTY) are useless, as they do not include the
'new mults'. However CT does handle the QTCs nicely.
There was plenty of "frenzied pile-up blind calling" of mults just after a
new one
appeared on the Cluster. The big multi-ops were doing this a lot - just
blind
calling immediately on a spotted mult's frequency.
