Thanks  to all for the comments on various bird scaring techniques. Looks 
like a plastic owl or similar may be worth a try. Someone also told me 
about some perforated plastic tape which gardener's use to keep pigeon's 
off their veg! It 'sings' in the breeze. May be worth a try too.

Currently it is not an issue since the average local windspeed is keeping 
the b****** at bay.
