[UK-CONTEST] Not a pretty picture

Bob and Dennis both make some valid points and I have already apologised for
throwing mud. In a reasoned manner I really wanted to make two points :
As Dennis pointed out, changing rules won't neccessarily result in an
increase in entries, but at least they may help to retain and increase the
enjoyment of existing participants. It has become apparent to many
contributors that if changes aren't made then regular entrants will drop out
in ever increasing numbers. For 2002 and 2003, there had been an
anticipation that at least some minor changes might be introduced, if not a
major overhaul. It is therefore extremely disappointing to see no movement
and to make it worse, what appears to some, very weak defence as to why.
Secondly, this Reflector has generated a lot of discussion, some positive,
some negative, some heated, some well thought out. Again, there has been an
anticipation and belief that these discussions would assist in the decision
making process. It would therefore have been helpful if, from time to time,
we had received some guidance from HFCC as to whether it was worth
continuing along a certain path.
Dave BUO mentioned that in discussions with the German FD organisers, a
combined CW/SSB will not be considered. This is good feedback, so that at
least effort can be made then to promote both events equally in the UK.
If this Reflector is to continue, can we please have some official input
occasionally? That way, we will all understand whether or not to raise or
continue on a particular topic.
