Hi all,

I'm not sure we really did all that well, but as ever we took part which
is the success in itself...great fun event, we combined with another
bunch in the Stevenage group who were doing the 6m trophy and this
proved very successful...we will be back next year...a few points tho'
* 10w is not by any 'official definition' QRP...all QRP clubs as well
as the ARRL in their DX Contests and CQ in the WW DX and WPX contests
designate QRP as 5 watts...so why the 10w instead of 5w in this
event?...I'm sure this question has been thrashed about before, but for
the curious what is the reasoning?
** our antenna was a doublet - 60m top fed with 20m of 450 Ohm
ladderline...it 'seemed' loud on LF, but not so clever on HF (too mnay
lobes?)...what do other groups do vis-a-vis lengths etc...switch out the
'LF' part whilst on HF to narrow it up a bit?...anyone willing to
divulge length's (I promise not to bandy about phrases like 'antenna
envy') as well as share about some knowledge on the subject?
73 & roll on NFD 2003
