Operating time = 10 hours.

I gave a new 40m antenna a tryout last night, so hence my usual single band
jobby.
Main intentions were to be on during the sun rise/set and see what it drawn
in from NA during the midnight hours.
I hogged a frequency and waited to see who called in.
Rates were superb at first. The early hour rates were painfully slow, I
presume 20 & 15 was in good shape still for NA keeping them away. I
certainly worked no more than 50 NA's.

There were some superb signals from OC both at sunrise and sunset. During a
quiet spell at 0600 hour I went a full 10 mins without a single call, then
out the blue got called by N4EP, VK3XU, VK2EL and VKAYD all within a minute
:-) Just goes to show.
I was pleased to get 12 mults, I thought I'd get 7-8 max so that was nice,
although I missed some really easy mults ZB2, 9H !!! and ZC4 mult. But I
didn't go looking for them, I was being lazy.
Breakdown of the mults worked.
    5B 1
   9M2 1
   VE1 1
   VE2 5
   VE3 8
   VK2 3
   VK3 1
   VK4 2
   VK8 1
    VU 1
   ZL2 3
   ZS6 1

So... on 40m anyway it was a bit of a drag, I think format makes this one an
extremely run orientated contest for the commonwealth stn's, so obviously
most of the activity stuck to the most productive bands 20/15. Maybe a point
incentive either per qso or double mult needs to added for 40/80 to draw
people off 20m during the darkness hours.
On the whole thanks for creating what can be (with a few scoring tweaks) a
potentially great contest.
Any comments etc on signal quality are welcome, and if anyone knows the
location of this dickhead who recently tries to jam me every contest would
be VERY nice :-)
...although he probably reads this reflector - lol
