Hi Dave

In the SSB section I am guilty! Had 253= Q's on 80>10 with those calling CQ
just to give a few points away.. My view they are glad of the points and in
many cases a G mult..however I have returned an entry log albeit a "Check
Log" since almost 60% of the Q's on LF.

CW was different but still part time (for many reasons) but I targeted last
years score given less
time available and with exceptional 160m condx in 2001 to match the mult
total some extra effort would be required on the other bands. A further
complication was that last year I had the luxury of much better LF antennas.

160m 87ft Vert >60ft + 80m 4-SQ>Single Vert + 40m 4SQ>Single Vertical
All in all a good personal challenge and on the way some fun.

Results well I did match last year in both Q's and Mults and a 3% increase
in the total score. I definately won't match the 3K QSO brigade but that was
never intended, however the fun bit was being parked on 10m between TWO BIG
Contesters all running 150+ when in normal years 10m would have been closed
up here in Yorkshire on the Sunday evening. By that time all the visitors
had departed and radio ruled..

This is a different view from a semi-serious contest station and operator
who is now way past the 44 out of 48hrs operating stints. My casual
contesting is always done using SD/CT and that way it's easy to import the
logs and even easier to produce a log entry since I never ever check
the submission. If I make mistakes during the contest tough luck on me but
getting it correct the first time is the aim.

Cheers John G3LZQ
