[UK-CONTEST] WRTC - CCF Ratings

I haven't been involved in selection for this year's WRTC, so I can speak
without any axe to grind. I have, however, been involved in finding UK
operators for some previous WRTC events. The problem has been, rather than
one of finding who scores highest on various criteria, actually finding
anyone who's prepared to go at all, and to represent the UK (it would be
embarrassing if there was no UK team at all, which almost happened on one
occasion!). As it happens, we have always been fortunate in ending up with
representatives who have acquitted themselves well.

It seems to come down to the usual British trait of not wanting to blow
one's own trumpet. Like you, I'd welcome an informal ranking of UK
contesters, as an incentive to stick at it and maybe enter some events that
I would otherwise not bother with. But I wonder whether the idea will get
enough support?

(PS, on another topic completely, my thanks to those of you who have put
kind comments on this reflector about the IOTA results booklet. It's nice
when one's efforts are appreciated. I'll be putting more about this year's
contest on the Reflector nearer the time but for those of you who didn't
enter last year, you can still see the booklet by downloading it as a PDF
file from the HFCC Web page)
