At G3GRS/P I was amazed to be called on 40m by
VO1MP at 12.00z. That's right, midday GMT! Presumably
some sort of polar enhancement due to the aurora. 

We only worked two OHs all weekend. I imagine they all
turn their HF rigs off at times like this. OH4OD/M described 
it as a "terrible nice aurora" which I think summed it up
perfectly.
