I like this idea. It's hard work manipulating fixed width field data. CSV
allows variable length fields, so you don't have to change the format when
you realise you didn't allow enough space for a new requirement. CSV is also
easily manipulated in Excel and could be used as an easy means for
generating the entry log, particularly when an incompatible logger was used.
I guess it's just a history thing why the RSGB format is fixed width? Could
CSV be explicitly allowed if the sequence of fields is the same?
BTW, when I got last year's results from DARC for IARU SSB Field day, I
noticed an implication that they had software to automatically read paper
logs. Anyone know anything about this?
