Luddite conversion.
I think we should seduce, persuade,coerce and bully contesters to move gently into the 21st century.As an OF, in the older half of the G3 list,I actually enjoyed the challenge of slowly getting myself radio/computer semi-literate such as to enjoy contesting more. I too think that  the younger element entering the hobby, a vast majority of whom will own computers, will similarly be happy to combine the two activities.
            RSGB should emulate the US contest organisers and make  mandatory the submission of contest entries in at least a Cabrillo compatible format,- as someone rightly said, this is a TECHNICAL HOBBY and should include an element of self training.
            On what is possibly a slightly controversial point, I have trouble understanding the logic of participating in a contest and then just entering a check log, why not just forward it as an entry, we can't all be near the top as I know well.
