Guys,  Just a 2p worth from me on this one ...


Jim - FWIW, I agree with you.  There is an anomaly about the top radios 
with 2 RX allowed but other separate receivers not being allowed - many 
smaller groups who don't have contest grade kit would still be able to 
find another radio to receive on.  We don't need more sections, but we 
do need parity in rules and then trust those that participate - they 
know if they cheat after all!


Chris - you may be right about this one but I am not sure that negative 
single sentence contributions like this one are terribly helpful!    At 
least, not up to the quality of other inputs you make!

Nigel - The point is not whether the FT1000MP is a serious contesters 
"average" radio these days - I would agree with you about that - the 
point is whether we want the rules to encourage those who don't start 
out wanting to be serious contesters and hence choose different radios 
but who might be keen to get into contesting.  The 1000MP etc. is not 
the "average" radio for most amateurs, either newcomers nor those who 
have been in the hobby a long time with other interests who develop an 
interest in contests.
