As many of you will be aware, there is unfortunately no VHF Convention
scheduled for this year. This has left the VHFCC with a question on how to
handle the presentation of the VHF Contest Trophies to the winners. Because
these awards are from the 2002 series of events, we don't want to make this
too late in the year, and we also want to do this at an event which doesn't
clash with any contests. Rallys are the obvious options, and we've had a
good look at the choices open to us and have come up with what we think is
the best one.
The Spalding & District Amateur Radio Society have kindly offered to host
the awards presentation at their rally on Sunday 1st June. This date fits
our requirements, the venue is relatively central in the UK in Linconshire,
and the RSGB President should be available to make the awards.
Trophy winners will soon receive a formal invitation from HQ.
Is anyone interested in an informal get-together of contesters on the
Saturday night (31st May)? We're not currently planning to organise anything
particularly formal, but just a social get-together at a pub with reasonably
priced accommodation in the locality. To see if this is likely to be a
go-er, please drop me a note quickly if you're likely to be interested.
Apologies if don't reply immediately over the next few days, but I'll be a
bit tied up.
