[UK-CONTEST] Importing a rig - help

Hi all

I'm thinking of importing a rig from a dealer in the States. It's not
stocked over here. I'm not clear on the overall cost:

Here's what I think needs to be included in my calculations  - and I look
forward to comments and corrections !

Cost of rig
Carriage (a pretty penny!)
Customs (import) duty - it's a % of the value of the parcel but I don't know
what %.
Excise duty - only on fags and beer ?
VAT at 17.5% on all the above combined
Handling fee by Royal Mail or carrier on this side.

I'd appreciate it if anyone could throw some light on my unknown quantities
please.
