Just a little dabble in this contest and you wouldn't have thought I
had spent a full 12 hours in it judging from my low score! Conditions
continue to be most uninspiring and it was hard to find much in the
way of dx never mind work it with QRP. I was particularly
disappointed in the post dawn period on Sunday. I had chosen my
operating hours specifically to use this time before I had to go out,
and was hoping for some QSOs on 15 and 10, but in the event even 20
was dead for much of the time. I also had the distinct impression
that activity was down, though the big stations seemed to be finding
plenty to work.
Continuing the problems with SDI in this contest, I notice the
Cabrillo output does not have an option to select for the QRP
section. I have edited my Cabrillo to read 'SINGLE-OP ALL QRP CW',
hope this is correct.
On the subject of Cabrillo, there is comment in this months RadCom
(p. 39) on the lack of comments in received logs. Perhaps this is
because Cabrillo does not encourage this with stylised lines starting
'SOAPBOX'. OK, it is easy to add more lines, but it does not
encourage comments in the same way as free flowing text would.
