I think you are absolutely correct Clive but are we really suggesting that
W5XD or K8CC will produce a Cabrillo format for those of us who use Writelog
or NA for things like SSB FD or Club Calls or any of the other RSGB contests
for that matter.
I am quite happy to use a contest format such as WPX which will then produce
a Cabrillo file for submission to HFCC. It is not up to me to modify this
file and I would not wish to do so for the very point that Clive makes : the
possibility of introducing errors. There are plenty of other contests for me
to enter, which I would probably do instead.
I am sorry but my interest in RSGB Contests has already declined to an
all-time low and this does nothing to revive that.

I suspect this is the wrong audience. I frankly cannot see your average
entrant for RSGB contests messing about to customise a Cabrillo file. That
certainly is my experience as an adjudicator, where a significant minority
manage to screw up even e.g. SD output formats. The people who need to hear
this are the logging programme vendors, but sadly I doubt that they will be
interested. I don't know what the answer to this is, except to increase
participation in RSGB contests so that we are a market force. Perhaps it is
already underway, but if not I feel HFCC need to correspond urgently with
the authors of CT,NA,TR,WL,N1MM et al to try to et them on side.
