I would second that. Whilst our recent trip to 5B wasn't as successful as
planned, I was able to see and use Bob's Writelog setup. He also demo'ed and
then left me to run a CW pile-up using some of the WL logging facilities! It
was awesome. In addition the ability to use two monitors and of course run
SO2R is really great. Networking also is much more reliable
I think the main difference is that with CT/NA you can easily set things up
because the programs being DOS-based are limited and therefore instructions
can be very explicit. WL is Windows based and the combinations are endless.
This does in turn mean that instructions are sparse. You can learn a lot
from the WL Reflector, even more so if you have a USA callsign and are only
interested in RTTY! The best way I have found so far is directlly exchanging
information with someone who has already gone through some of the learning
curve.
Stick with it, I reckon WL is the best contest logger so far. 73 Chris

(Perhaps the best testimonial is that ops such as Bob and Randy K5ZD and Tom
K5RC are using it and successfully.)

Chris, at the risk of appearing trite. If you already have CT and CT is
what you want, then why waste your time trying to turn Writelog into CT?
If on the other hand you want to understand how you might use Writelog as
Writelog and get to know its strengths and weaknesses then there is a pretty
good Writelog reflector with folks there just itching to help you.
Incidentally there is a switch in Writelog.ini that will tab you straight
out of the call field when the exchange has been sent if that is what you
want, though I don't use it myself.
