Ahh I think I see where your coming from.
There is an option to turn off 'enter sends exch/QRZ'. It's in the entry
pull down.
You can then type in a call press enter and it goes straight to the log, no
other keystrokes and regardless of where you are in the qso.
With this the exchange keys are not tied into it at all. You can
independantly use regular insert or Fkeys, which ever is prefered to send cw
msg's and keyboard and enter to input call into log.
Likewise with CT if you have to edit zone you space over, but it's not
mandatory.
It's possible to remove all other data enter points from the qso entry
window so it leaves just call and zone. This way if you happen to double
space by mistake when zone info needs editing the focus will go
automatically back to the only available entry point which will be call
entry and old zone info does not get lost.
The qso entry window is modified from Contest-Exchange format setup... pull
down
It can be done.
Hope it helps.
