Just back from a short trip abroad,so lots of e-mails to catch up on.All the contesting stuff interesting in varying degress. One however caught my eye, amongst considerable verbiage was a statement " all we need are 3 or 4.... contests ", I must, as a little pistol, disagree. There are already sufficient large contests, the US ones of course, BERU (oops - PC), FDs, IOTA etc.
There still however seems in place an obsession with creating new BRITISH engendered contests which will appeal to and attract many entries from, EU, the US or the world at large.
I have noted an increasing number of comments here from subscribers along the lines of " unable to participate fully...., " so I think there is a genuine requirement for an increased number of shorter contests, some on the lower bands, in which more contesters could participate fully.Perhaps these could be along the lines of those ( oh, dear , here he goes again) which were discarded as being like a G3s QSO party.
I have employed CT,CTJ,SD,SDI,TRand NM, all with pleasure and varying degrees of success, and even sent in entries in Cabrillo. Now it seems that WL is high in the charts - thank goodness flatscreen monitors are getting cheaper in TESCO and ASDA....
Cheers all Ivan G3IZD
