Been there, done that. I found it relatively easy to locate the
SM resistor on the underside of the board, in my case it was
the 12dB attenuator. I replaced it with a 1/8 watt resistor of
the same value so now the 12dB position at least can perhaps
take a little more power before blowing.
I have Dunestar filters and stubs to enable two radio operation,
the reason I blew the attenuator was that I was using the MP to
listen to a broadcast station, outside the amateur bands, when
I transmitted on 10m on the other radio. Therefore the Dunestar
was out of circuit!
