Hi,

Are all these CC contests as wild as that? This is the first one I've
remembered to be on for since the first data contest in January. In
that one I made about 20 QSOs which was a bit dismal, in this one I
could have done quite well if I'd been any good (but I'm not :-).

Spent most of the contest tuning around trying to find somewhere to
shoehorn myself in and call CQ, it wasn't helped by the fact that the
rather nice dinner we had last night ran on a bit late and I only got on
about 9:15 - I was amazed to find people giving serials up as high as 50
by then! So I did a grand total of 60 QSOs, if all these contests are
that good I'll be on for the next one and do better (like being ready
for the start :-).

What is it with these continentals? - someone who couldn't be bothered
identifying themselves with a ' foren' accent spent 5 minutes
haranguing me for being on 36911 'am I mad'? he wanted to know, 'did I
not have a book'? "No I wasn't mad, why, was he?" I replied, "yes I
have plenty of books, thanks for asking" :-) Why me I wondered when
half the rest of the UK was also in 3650 to 3700 (the other half being
in 3700 to 3750).

And then there was some Johnny English who was (I think) having (or
trying to have ;-) a normal qso somewhere about 3725 when I plonked
myself just above him in what I thought was a nearly quiet spot (only S7
noise). He berated me for being only 1KHZ from him..... (Let me
think.... Probably about 200 stations in 100KHZ, that's err, errr,
don't hurry me now, err, 500HZ each, yeh? )

Well I didn't ever realise you DC banders had such fun - such
oportunities for entente cordial (or whatever the germanic equivalent
is), count me in next time, I may make some mods to the rig, by the way,
how do you make your ssb signal 20KHZ wide??? (just joking :-)

Now, seriously, are there any GJ or GD stations on for these contests -
am deseperately looking for these two to break the 100 DXCC for this
year so far (OK, not a huge total comparred to you big guns but it's a
milestone for me).
