As a QRP entrant in this event in the past three years (for which
those who worked me get four times your points!) I obviously cannot
compete with the likes of Don... I tend to take these top band
contests not too seriously as I know my signal on the band is many dB
below a needle bending one!
36 QSOs and 79 points (before QRP/low power multipliers are added).
No DX here though, best DX a mere 1922km (7S2E). By the way, SD
calculates the distances and scores as you go along, and produces a
cabrillo file with the proper fields in the right place.
Activity certainly seemed to be down this year. The date had to be
moved as next Saturday is Christmas Day and the following one New
Year's eve - I guess they will have to do the same next year with
Christmas Day on the Sunday. This of course clashed with the 9A
contest which caused some confusion with some of its participants
unwilling to give us QSOs. There seemed very few G stations taking
part seriously.
