Switched on around mid-day after driving home from Cardiff. Weather
conditions down here were terrible.. I encountered rain , hail , sleet ,
thunder & eventually snow when I got home. The wind was very strong & gusty.
The 80m dipole was on the ground when I arrived. 30 mins later all okay but
kept everything down at 25ft as was worried about raising the tower any
higher. Had a few local chats on 80 before getting some food in before the
start.. Pretty weak signals.. wasn't sure if this was just D layer
Absorption or also because of the antenna height which is normally around
50ft.

107Q's all S&P ( not confident enough yet to call CQ yet) ..
Heard weak HA's as previously noted. GM's came through last hour much
stronger as I'd expect. 10mins off time to repair downed end support.
Nothing worked out of UK.
TS2000 performed extremely well - nice to be able to adjust down to 250Hz &
up to 600 quickly depending on QRM.. 2nd Noise Reduction filter spectacular
on CW.. Useless on SSB.
Didn't run Acom for long , too worried about the antenna coming down.
CW still needs a *lot* of work.. which I've started putting in.

Oh well.. 2x SSB events to come hopefully to redeem myself ;-)
