I tend to agree, SPC really only works when most of the participants 
are in the USA where the State bit is important. And of course 
sending serial numbers keeps the adrenalin going a bit more when you 
see how the opposition is doing.

Yes the exchange is now trivial and meaningless. But there were the 
odd ones who sent slightly different ones like CZ, BA and even one DL 
who send GER - just to keep you on your toes...
