CONTEST: CQ-160-CW
CATEGORY: SINGLE-OP-ASSISTED 160M HIGH CW
CLAIMED-SCORE: 42484

Played a little in this one on Saturday morning, Saturday evening and
Sunday morning. A little over five hours, with packet assistance so
multi op category - I was mainly hunting new ones on 160m. Conditions to
usa seemed poor on the Saturday morning although at peak some of the
east coast stations were peaking 579 here. Best dx was VP5/VE3NE,
A61AJ, and A45XR. I ran a few times and got bogged down with heavy pile
up of EU stations calling me on each occasion that someone spotted me on
the cluster - like just a wall of similar cw signals - any tips on how
you pull one out of that mess? I tried the RIT and the APF on my FT1000
but gave up and went S and P ing again on several occasions - a lot of
the EU stations did not seem to listen but just kept calling even when I
was going back to specific stations on prefixs - give me a pile up of
Jas or Ws on 20m or 15m any day, they are much more disciplined.

I used N1MM again, which was superb, plus normal FT1000, Acom amp, and
Inverted V dipole at 90ft.
