With respect and putting it very mildly, that is a load of claptrap!

1 - There is this thing called the British Disease. You know - We are an
island and not in Eu, save the Pound, long live Beloo, we must stick to the
power limits. Irrespective of any local licence conditions, there are
several internationally recognised power breaks : Standard Transceiver
Power, Standard Contest and DXing Power, S+CAD. Listen to the 3B9C pile-up,
ask what power is 3B9C running, what power are the callers running?

The British Disease could also be prominent in the IOTA contest multi-op
section. As good honest UK ops we interpret the rules how we think the
sponsors intended them. There is strong suspicion amongst us stout fellows
that some other Eu groups are interpreting them how they want to. So you see
us Brits are so bad after all!!

Running extended power is not new, is not limited to contesting and is not
limited to UK only stations. Why do we have to keep going through this
silly discussion?

I was recently exchanging memories of 160m DXing with a friend. I mentioned
the late G3GRL, my CW and 160m mentor, who back in the 1960s ran a pair of
813s at around 500w out when the limit was 10w DC input. I was introduced to
100w by my peers at that stage. From then on I always ran STP. Come on
Mike, surely you are not that naive. What about the all the big UK, EU and
ROW DXers? What about the very late G2NM? Surely you remember the late
G3FXB, top DXer and contester.

2 - On your second point. I couldn't care a jot what you wish to believe or
not believe. In AFS, like the 80m Cumulatives, if the rules say 100w, I will
use 100w.

Go to 5B4 and have a look at the 3 P3A sites. Come on Mike, live in the
real world

Must have another look at the BR 68 I must be missing something

that.

If you cannot restrict yourself to 400 in other contests what makes you
think we will belive you are at 100 in the AFS???
