Well I must have done something right (speaking as someone in their 
mid-fifties)...

I turned in around 9.30 on Friday night, with the rig already set up 
and working. Woke up naturally at 1am (having decided to miss the 
first frantic hour). Breaks for breakfast (30 mins), lunch (45 mins) 
and tea (30 mins) each day -I don't have another half to cook the 
meals, so have to do that as well, and I eat my normal traditional 
fayre (but not a Sunday roast this week). Saturday evening turned in 
around 11pm and (with no particular intention of getting up early) 
woke at 2.30. Stayed on to the bitter end (then collapsed). Still 
seem wide awake today... No alcohol or pills or whatever either...

Maybe in a couple of years the effect will come in...
