My first ever Ropoco, so it was interesting. Initially I was concerned that someone gave me an impossible postcode at one point, and I had to think about that for a wee minute. I thought, why's he sending me this when it's obviously wrong! Then the penny dropped!
I had some interesting problems. Believe it or not, I used an original (non-Y2K compliant) version of G3WGV log, with the PC date set to 1999. Yes, I'm stuck in my ways. I was working someone, and I hit the enter key by mistake, and logged a partial callsign. Disaster, 'cos I couldn't remember how to edit a previous QSO. And the postcode was now allocated. I fixed it, but lost a lot of time. I felt that I could have done a lot better as I was hearing a lot loud. I was also called by someone after the contest had finished, which was a shame. Worked a few non-G but just gave them a report anyway. Horrendous key clicks around 3526. Made me wonder if I have the same problem, as I haven't done the key click mod on the 1000MP. I found that I preferred to use the hand key to send rather than the PC because it's good to send the postcode with a bit of feeling, rather than allow the PC to just blast it out. I'm sure it helps at the rx end.
Great to have finished a contest by 1000 on Sunday, and still have the whole day ahead! So a thumbs up for Ropoco - I'll maybe do it again in another 35 years or so.
59 QSOs with no dupes.
