I also know little about ATC, but I frankly doubt that what they do can
compare in complexity, or even pressure with running a 200 p.h. rate on CW,
while trying to hunt multipliers on the second rx. Neither should it of
course, because in a CW contest the worst that happens is a busted QSO, and
in ATC someone could get killed!
As for the use of a mouse, quite simply, on CW you wouldn't even dream of
doing it, it is slow and ponderous. Equally ( for non touch typists), keying
Alt W is a no-no, that's why F11 wipes is necessary ( wipe on move in N1MM
is verrrry good btw). Sorry if this sounds pretentious, but if you are a CW
operator you just know these things instinctively. Caveat I know nothing
about SSB nor RTTY.
