[UK-CONTEST] Vacuum variable question

I just received a large Vacuum Variable that I bought off Ebay, from
Ukraine.

Does anyone know of a good way to mount one of these for an ATU??  Is the
glass envelope usually supported in some way ??  Guess I was thinking of
horizontal mounting, parallel with an inductor

The 2 collars must be used I guess, but they are needed for electrical
continuity also

Any advice gratefully received
