I can't help directly (yet) but I'm slowly starting on a windows version of my VHF contest 
logger. Design is proceeding slowly, but it will be network and plugin based from the 
start. 
 
If there are developers out there who are interested in helping, then please contact me! 
If it is more than just me, then it will go open source - probably a modified MPL rather 
the GPL (but thats another argument). 
 
Oh, and my preference is for C++, but the embryonic design makes language a seperate 
choice for each plugin app. 
 
Linux? I don't run it, but if someone else is an expert on GUIs that run cross platform? 
Or maybe embed it all into Eclipse?
