Hi all
Well thanks for all the comments, and as I said, I'm only the messenger !

I think that its a typical example of a small club mentality. I for one am
very keen on contesting, and suggested to the club that we go and operate in
the contest, a la field day style. The response was nil.
As we have G9T as a contest call, I'll run that during the contest. At least
it'll get an airing !

We did VHF NFD last weekend, two of us showed up on the Friday night to
assemble the stations, and we operated with 3 operators for the whole
contest.

CQ WW SSB and WPX was the same, two operators and field day style operations
(very limited space for aerials).

This year Im doing SSB FD on my own, using it as a test to see if I can get
a decent Multiband HF Station on the air, as the club can't be bothered. Its
a shame really, as I've seen a few really keen people get disillusioned with
this lot of club members.

I for one consider a weekend's contesting, /P style, great fun, and wouldn't
miss it for the world. I'd have gone /P this weekend, if it wasn't for my
Stag do tonight ! Tomorrow's G9T operation may be a little hungover,
therefore !

Catch you on the bands !

Adrian (M1LCR)
