[UK-CONTEST] Don't Forget - GB5HQ

I was intending trying out the new external contest shack from here
(Anglesey) for this contest, but delays with electrician and plasterers
meant the new shack was not ready and the antenna work reqd was not done
either. That’s my excuse and I am sticking to it.

Due to the above I did not volunteer to be considered for one of the
slots. However, would be pleased to put GW0GEI/GW6J Contest Cymru Group
down as a volunteer for next year if a station on the west coast here is
required on any band. Would also welcome guests from south GW or G /GM
too if the 4 or 5 ops we could muster was considered too small a number.

Congratulations to all those who did run the station this year, under
difficult conditions. I enjoyed the challenge of working you on all
band/mode slots, in between painting the exterior of the new shack and
watching the grand prix qualifying!

Hi Dave,
Had a quick look at the website and was most surprised by the lack
of
Welsh and Northern Ireland members in our Great Britain team. In
addition to
this only 2 out of the 40 or so stations were Scottish. Was this due to
lack
of interest from the aforementioned countries? What was the method for
selection of stations? Surely if we want to compete effectively we need
as
many geographically diverse stations as we can manage to cover the whole
of
Great Britain and not just the whole of England?
