Please dont think I am trying to be funny or trivialise your search for a high tech solution.

The answer depends a lot on the operator and the conditions. Trying to cope with on-screen, pop-up boxes during a heavy CW pile up can stretch the mental capacity of many people (probably phone ops too but my recent experience on phone is lacking).

The simplest solution is a Post It note! And of course clear writing

Just something like "G4BWP EU005 coming now" or "G4BWP EU005 14030" does the trick, placed near to the operators eyeline on the desk. He (she) can absorb this in his/her own time without interacting with the PC keyboard or mouse.

A plus is that the technology cant go wrong!! The used notes can be useful for verifying callsigns and data after the contest too.

We use this method for MM in CQ WW in Africa (5U5Z, XT2DX etc)

Good luck in IOTA
