How about an online video:
"Listen to this contest QSO - well that was quick, so let's rewind and 
play it step by step... "
"OK, try joining in this next QSO yourself - we'll leave gaps where you 
need to say something."
"Now listen to this one... Can you see what went wrong there?"
"Here's something else you might hear...  but was that a good way to 
make a QSO?"

I know that dreaming up the ideas is the easy bit, but it would be 
do-able.
