I believe (thought not 100% sure) that Windows 98SE is limited to
256Mb maximum, so that extra memory won't do anything at all.
I use 98SE here, but with none of your software (being a person who
refuses to use any MS software at all apart from Windows...). It
works well (with 256Mb) although I have noticed a tendency for later
versions of software to be pretty memory intensive. There is a
setting you can add to system.ini to force Windows to not use disk
cache until all physical memory has been used:
add the line ConservativeSwapfileUsage=1 to the [386Enh] section.
With that I find my swap ram (win386.swp) is normally zero.
